We take an original Game Boy Color and start by taking it apart fully. We clean the PCB, replace any broken or worn components such as the Link connection, volume and power switches, and do a full hardware test to confirm good working order is restored.
Next, we replace the old, used and worn shell with a brand new ABS one, along with the rubber contacts and buttons to restore that brand new button press feel.
We upgrade the quiet audio with our CleanAmp system and new power capacitor that boosts the sound level and replaces the old speaker with a hyper-loud 1W speaker, pushing the sound to the limit.
Then comes the major upgrade. We install our brand new backlit IPS LCD that brings the Game Boy Color into the modern age. This will leave you in Game Boy heaven.
No more AA batteries, all Prestige Color consoles now come with a CleanJuice battery pack including native low battery indicator dimming the GBC red light when batteries are low. The console is powered by a CleanJuice USB-C 2.2Wh lipo battery and will require any USB-C device to charge it.
