A complete remake of the original Game Gear motherboard for VA1/2/4/5 (All 1-ASIC variants), designed for use with the CleanScreen (not original LCD), and packed with many cool features and quality-of-life enhancements.
Simply transplant your ASIC and EXT port from the existing console. Then use either a GameSlot or transplant your original cartridge slot over.
We recommend purchasing a GameSlot to go with this so you don't have to transplant your cartridge port.
Comes with:
- Game Gear RePCB motherboard populated with everything except ASIC, cartridge slot and EXT port
- Brand-new power and audio ribbons
- CleanScreen ribbons
Features:
- Self-Powered: No need for power or audio boards for testing. Simply plug a USB cable and headphones into the ports on board to fully power up and test the console.
- Reset button to reset game, useful for bench testing when powering from onboard USB-C.
- Japan / English toggle switch, accessible from battery compartment when closed up.#
- 50 / 60Hz Switch (50Hz not compatible with CleanScreen v3, V4 will support it)
- Comes with CleanScreen ribbons for solder-free CleanScreen install.
- Test points and solder pads for all important signals
- Improved audio with tones never heard before thanks to rerouted traces and a new amp and audio filter circuit change.
- Out of reset LED so we know if ASICs out of reset.
- Power good LED for 5V rail.
- Brand new SMD crystal for main system clock.
- New PCB layout for less noise and cleaner power rails, more accurate data transmissions.
- Brand new high-quality SMD components and an improved PCB design fixing any faults found with the original.
Fully Assembled Option
We now provide an option where we will use a working original Game Gear and do the full transplant of chips over to the PCB so you have a completely working Game Gear without the need to even solder anything!
The normal option you will need to transplant the ASIC, cartridge slot, power/audio ribbons and EXT Port yourself.
